Box Office: “Atomic Blonde” Explodes With $1.5 Million

Atomic Blonde, starring Charlize Theron, has opened with explosive $1.5 million on Thursday night. The spy thriller has been projected for an opening weekend in a $20 million range from 3,304 domestic sites. The movie is set in Germany during the Berlin Wal fall in 1989.

The Rotten Tomatoes critics score for the film is currently standing at 75%. Theron’s character is a top-level British spy sent to Berlin to take down an espionage ring.

The Atomic Blonde scores are similar to 2015’s Kingsman: The Secret Service, which earned $1.4 million on its first night and $36.2 million during the opening weekend.
