Bradley Cooper and Christian Bale showed the world they’re an amazing dynamic duo in American Hustle, and they’re gearing up for another collaboration. The two acclaimed actors are eying lead roles in the promising Cold War spy film Best of Enemies.

This high-profile project draws inspiration from Best of Enemies: The Last Great Spy Story of the Cold War by Eric Dezenhall and Gus Russo. It centers on CIA agent Jack Platt and KGB agent Gennady Vasilenko, two Cold War spies who develop an unlikely friendship.

Best of Enemies is still looking for a studio, but Deadline reports that Netflix and Apple already expressed interest in this hot package.

This project is also looking for a director, but Cooper is reportedly open to stepping behind the camera. His directorial debut A Star is Born was a huge success, and its follow-up Maestro is receiving major Oscar buzz.

Best of Enemies would reunite Cooper and Bale with Eric Warren Singer, who co-wrote the script for American Hustle alongside David O. Russell. This black comedy came out in 2013, and it received a total of ten nominations, including acting nods for Bale, Cooper, and their co-stars Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Adams.
