Bradley James to Star in “The Liberator”

The British actor has just landed his next TV gig.

Deadline confirms that Bradley James has joined Netflix’s The Liberator. James has been cast as the lead in the animated drama series based on the book by Alex Kershaw.

The four-part animated World War II drama series will be adapted from Kershaw’s The Liberator: One World War II Soldier’s 500-Day Odyssey. The book tells the remarkable story of battlefield journey of maverick US Army officer Felix Sparks from the first landing in Italy and through Europe to the end of the Third Reich over 500 bloody days.

Adapting the novel to the small screen is Jeb Stuart (Die Hard, The Fugitive). According to the outlet the series will be the first to be produced in Trioscope, a new animation technology that combines CGI with live-action.

James’ credits include Netflix’s Medici franchise, the Merlin TV series, iZombie, Homeland and Bounty Hunters.
