“Bridgerton” Will Return to Netflix for Season 2

Bridgerton is one of the shows that defined the beginning of 2021, and its renewal was just waiting to happen. That moment is finally here, as Netflix announced this beloved period drama will return for another season.

To announce the renewal, Netflix released an official statement in the form of a Lady Whistledown’s letter. In addition to confirming that the show will return for a second season, this letter also states that the upcoming season will center on Anthony Bridgerton, who intends to dominate the social season.

Bridgerton creator Chris Van Dusen discussed the future of the show during a recent apperance on Today with Hoda & Jenna. He confirmed that the new season will focus on Anthony, while also revisiting beloved old characters and introducing many new ones.

“Anthony is going to have a love interest next season, and I think it’s going to be as sweeping and moving and as beautiful as viewers of the first season have come to expect from the show,” said Van Dusen.

Bridgerton premiered on Netflix on December 25th, 2020, and became one of Netflix’s biggest hits to date, with 63 million households reached within its 28 first days.
