Bruno Mars and Cardi B Release a video for “Finesse”

Bruno Mars took to Instagram on Wednesday night to reveal his new track, a remix of his 2016 song “Finesse,” which featured rapper Cardi B.

He released the single’s artwork, which shows the two stars dressed in colorful ’90s costume.

“Start your 2018 with Big Bronx Boogie Herself @iamcardib and me Midnight Tonight EST #Finesse,” the five-time Grammy winner captioned the post.

Cardi B also shared the photo on Instagram, writing, “Oh Hey @brunomars!!!! Finesse!! Drops tonight, midnight!! ITS AMAZZZZIIIINGGG.”

Mars wrote on Twitter that the music video was dedicated to one of his favorite shows. According to Rolling Stone, the new video was a tribute to In Living Color, the sketch comedy series starring the Wayans brothers. The singer-songwriter said that “Finesse” went through several versions before 24K Magic’s release.

“There’s just some things f**ing the groove up,” he told Rolling Stone at the time. “Anytime you see us, on tour, on TV, I want to be moving … I was very conscious on this album of the bounce.”

The 32-year-old singer earned a total of six Grammy nods for 24K Magic including Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year for “That’s What I Like.”

As for Cardi B, she is nominated for two Grammys in the Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance categories for her No. 1 hit, “Bodak Yellow.”

This week, the 25-year-old singer became the first rapper in history to place her first three Billboard Hot 100 entries in the chart’s Top 10 simultaneously.
