Bruno Mars Donates $1 million to Flint Crisis

Bruno Mars is giving back! Being currently on his 24K Magic World Tour didn’t stop the singer from joining artists like Big Sean, Cher and Pearl Jam by helping raise money and donate to fight the Flint water crisis.

On Saturday during his sold-out concert in Auburn Hills, Michigan, Mars revealed that he had donated $1 million to aid the victims and those affected by the ongoing water crisis. The singer announced that revenues from the concert had been redirected to the Community Foundation of Greater Flint.

“I’m very thankful to the Michigan audience for joining me in supporting this cause,” Mars said in a statement. “Ongoing challenges remain years later for Flint residents, and it’s important that we don’t forget our brothers and sisters affected by this disaster. As people, especially as Americans, we need to stand together to make sure something like this never happens in any community ever again.”

The Community Foundation of Greater Flint’s president and CEO said that the foundation is grateful and honored to accept the singer’s donation, adding that Mars’ generosity, “will be transformative to the children and families of Flint.”
