BTS and Halsey Break YouTube’s 24-Hour Record with “Boys With Luv”

BTS has been one of the most popular boy bands in South Korea for years, but they’re ready to take the world by storm – and they’re doing it with their new single “Boys With Luv”. The song racked up over 78 million views in the first 24 hours, setting a new YouTube record.

“Boys With Luv” is the lead single from BTS’s new EP Map of the Soul: Persona, which was highly-anticipated by their army of devoted fans. This song sees the boys collaborating with American singer Halsey, and she’s not the only international superstar who made an appearance on their new record – Ed Sheeran collaborated with the boy band on the song “Make It Right”.

K-pop is experiencing a huge boom in the US right now, and BTS is one of the bands on the front lines. That doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll change their sound to become more accessible since they’re trying to stay true to themselves.

“A Hot 100 and a Grammy nomination, these are our goals. But they’re just goals – we don’t want to change our identity or our genuineness to get the number one. Like if we suddenly sing in full English, and change all these other things, then that’s not BTS,” explained singer RM in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
