BTS sent their fans into a collective frenzy every time they dropped a new album, and they’ve done it again — their loyal army of followers has helped them reach the no. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart for the fourth time.

The K-pop band dropped their latest album Map of the Soul: 7 on February 21st, after teasing its release with several hit singles, including recently released “Black Swan” and “On.”

BTS reached no. 1 in the US for the first time when their previous studio album Love Yourself: Tear hit the shelves in 2018. Their compilation album Love Yourself: Answer and EP Map of the Soul: Persona repeated its success.

The triumph of their latest album can’t be overlooked, and not only because it marks their fourth album at no. 1. Map of the Soul: 7 also had the highest opening for an album in 2020 thus far, with 422,000 album-equivalent units earned in the first week on the chart.
