Cailee Spaeny in Talks to Topline “The Craft” Remake

The contemporary reimagining of the 1996 cult classic has found its first witch.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cailee Spaeny is in negotiations to join The Craft reboot.  Should she join the project, Spaeny would portray Hannah, the role originally played by Robin Tunney.

The project is directed by Zoe Lister-Jones from her own script. Andrew Fleming, co-writer and director of the original, will serve as executive produce. Jason Blum will produce alongside Douglas Wick and Lucy Fisher.

The 1996 original earned $24.8 million at the domestic box office.

Spaeny’s credits include Pacific Rim: Uprising, On the Basis of Sex, Vice, and Bad Times at the El Royale.

Production on the reboot is set to start in July.
