There’s a lot of buzz surrounding each and every Marvel movie, and their first female-led project is no exception. After months of anticipation, the first trailer for Captain Marvel is finally here, and it was definitely worth the wait.
Captain Marvel centers on Carol Danvers (Brie Larson), who becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races. It’s set in the ‘90s, a period in history that hasn’t been explored by any of the previous Marvel movies.
The first trailer for this exciting project is filled with ’90s nostalgia and shows Carol crashing through the roof of a Blockbuster Video store in the very first shot. She feels completely lost in this new world, but young Nick Fury shows up to help her figure out who she is and where she came from.
Marvel fans are speculating Captain Marvel will play a crucial role in the upcoming Infinity War sequel. Some are even suggesting she’s the key to winning the war against Thanos, especially after Marvel’s boss Kevin Feige described her as “more powerful than any character we’ve introduced thus far.” Judge for yourself if he was right when Captain Marvel hits the theaters on March 8, 2019.
