Carrie Underwood Receives Star at Emotional Walk of Fame Ceremony

The list of Carrie Underwood’s accomplishments is pretty much endless, and the country princess just added another jewel to her crown. She was overcome by emotions after receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Carrie Underwood was surrounded by her family and friends during the ceremony. Fellow country singer Brad Paisley and her American Idol mentor Simon Cowell also showed up to support her.

“I actually couldn’t be more proud of you for presenting you this and you did it your way. I am so happy for you and I’m thrilled to be saying this. I love you and you are a total, total star,” said Cowell.

It’s been 13 years since her American Idol victory, but Underwood is still aware she wouldn’t be where she is today if people didn’t support her back then. She thanked everyone who believed in her and inspired her to keep on going – including the judges, the voters and her family.

“How is this my life? How does a girl from Checotah, Oklahoma, get a star on the Walk of Fame? I will tell you: belief… Thank you for believing in me as a human, as a wife, as a mom, and supporting me through all of this,” said Carrie Underwood, while addressing her husband Mike Fisher and their son Isaiah.
