Cate Blanchett is Nowhere to Be Found in “Where’d You Go, Bernadette”

We’re used to seeing Cate Blanchett completely disappear into her roles, and her next one is no exception. The first trailer for Where’d You Go, Bernadette is here, and it seems like the best vanishing act of her career.

This exciting dramedy, based on the bestselling novel by Maria Semple, tells the tale of a Seattle woman who disappears without a trace. Instead of waiting for her to suddenly re-appear, Bernadette’s brilliant daughter sets out a search to find her and solve the mystery behind her disappearance.

Where’d You Go, Bernadette was described as a touching novel about a misplaced genius and a mother and daughter’s role in an absurd world. It seems like the upcoming movie will perfectly capture the spirit of these two amazing women. Cate Blanchett never disappointed us, and she’ll have great support in the newcomer Emma Nelson.

Richard Linklater directed and wrote the movie, and convinced the likes of Billy Crudup, Laurence Fishburne, Kristen Wiig, and Judy Greer to join the cast. Where’d You Go, Bernadette is scheduled for 22 March 2019 release.
