]]>Juliana Hartfield:
Juliana Hatfield is an American musician and singer-songwriter from the Boston area. She was formerly of the indie rock bands ‘Blake Babies’, ‘Some Girls’, and well known for her parts in ‘The Lemonheads’ album It’s A Shame About Ray
Hartfield now performs as a solo artist and as one half of ‘Minor Alps’ alongside Matthew Caws of ‘Nada Sur’f.
Hartfiels announced a new album called Pussycat, which was released on April 28 via American Laundromat. Hatfield wrote the album as a reaction to the 2016 presidential election. “All of these songs just started pouring out of me,” she said in a statement. “I felt an urgency to record them, to get them down, and get them out there.” The album features songs called “Short-Fingered Man” and “Kellyanne.” The full-length follows last year’s project with Paul Westerberg of ‘Wild Stab’, as ‘The I Don’t Cares’.

]]>Suzanne Vega:
The legendary New York singer-songwriter Suzanne Vega is celebrating the 30th and 25th anniversaries respectively of her albums Solitude Standing and 99.9F by performing both in full, as well as more tracks from throughout a distinguished career that has seen her sell over 7 million albums worldwide.
For this exclusive video session, she performed the songs “Luka,” “99.9F” & “Tom’s Diner.”
Having emerged as a leading figure in the folk-music revival of the early 1980s accompanying herself simply with an acoustic guitar, Vega released Solitude Standing, her second album, in 1987. The record would go on to chart at number 2 in the UK and number 11 in the USA, going platinum and earning a nomination for Record of the Year at the Grammy’s in the process.
Always pushing the boundaries of music, Vega released 99.9F in 1992, and album with a more electronic sound, which brought descriptions of industrial folk and techno folk. The record was certified gold, and also won a New York Music Award for Best Rock Album.
On looking back on these two pivotal albums in her career, Suzanne Vega says:
“These songs were written and recorded many years ago, but I still love playing them live, and have ever since the albums first came out. Now to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Solitude Standing and the 25th Anniversary of 99.9F, my band and I will perform them both in their entirety for the very first time. Please join me for this very special concert!”
