CBS Picks Up “Tommy” Starring Edie Falco

CBS has picked up a fourth drama for the 2019-2020 season. 

Tommy will star The Sopranos and Nurse Jackie alum Edie Falco. Falco, who according to Variety was CBS’ first pick, will play a former high-ranking NYPD officer who becomes the first female Chief of Police for Los Angeles.

Here is the official logline for the cop drama: “When a former high-ranking NYPD officer becomes the first female chief of police for Los Angeles, she uses her unflinching honesty and hardball tactics to navigate the social, political, and national security issues that converge with enforcing the law.”

The series was created by Paul Attanasio, Amblin Television and CBS TV Studios. Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey of Amblin Television will serve as executive producers. The pilot hails from Kate Dennis.

Michael Chernus, Adelaide Clemens, David Fierro, Russell G. Jones, Olivia Lucy Phillip, and Joseph Lyle Taylor also star.
