The NCIS franchise is one of CBS’ biggest hits, and they’re not letting go of it anytime soon. The network just renewed spin-offs NCIS: Los Angeles and NCIS: New Orleans for another season.
Kelly Kahl, president of CBS Entertainment, described this shows as a “key pillars to the CBS schedule” and said the network is excited to see what else they’ve got in store.
“They offer heroic stories, big stars and have attracted a passionate, loyal fan base. We’re excited to have Chris, LL, Scott, and these terrific casts back to bring more terrific NCIS stories to viewers in the U.S. and around the world,” explained Kahl in an official statement.
Both shows are among the most-watched dramas on broadcast television right now, averaging over 10 million viewers each week. NCIS: Los Angeles has been around for an entire decade, and it stars Chris O’Donnell and LL Cool J. NCIS: New Orleans premiered in 2014, with Scott Bakula leading the way.
