If you didn’t manage to catch Celine Dion’s Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace, you should hurry up. The 50-year-old pop star just announced that the residency is coming to an end soon, with the final show scheduled for June 8th, 2019.
The final leg of Dion’s Las Vegas residency will have 28 dates, with the first half of it starting on February 26th and running through March 16th. After a two months break, the final set of shows will begin on May 14th and wrap up on June 8th.
“I definitely have mixed emotions about this final run,” said Dion in a statement posted on her social media. “Las Vegas has become my home and performing at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace has been a big part of my life for the past two decades. It’s been an amazing experience and I’m so grateful to all the fans who have come to see us throughout the years. Every show we do at the Colosseum throughout this fall, and right up until the final one, will feel very special.”
With two combined Las Vegas residencies, Celine Dion played close to 1,100 shows at Caesars Palace. Her first residency, titled “A New Day…” began in 2003 and ended in 2007.
Dion’s last studio album, Encore un Soir, came in 2016 and was entirely recorded in the French language. The album ended up becoming a success with both critics and audience, topping the charts in more than 10 countries. Her latest English-language release was song “Ashes,” which was part of the soundtrack for superhero movie Deadpool 2.
