“Champions” Canceled After One Season at NBC

NBC has canceled Champions co-created by Mindy Kaling and Charlie Grandy.

Good news though that it’s not game over as it has been reported that Universal TV, which produced the comedy for NBC, is shopping the show to other outlets.

The comedy debuted in March and centered on Vince who took on the family gym after giving up on his pro baseball dreams. He was on the verge of secretly selling the gym and moving to Florida when an old high school fling, turned his life upside down when she unexpectedly dropped off their 15-year-old son, Michael.

The series starred Anders Holm, Fortune Feimster, Andy Favreau, J.J. Totah, and Mouzam Makkar, with guest appearances from Kaling.
