Cher Released First Track From Her ABBA Cover Album

People love hearing covers of Abba songs, and Cher is providing the goods.

The music icon found inspiration for her latest album Dancing Queen, a new album of Abba covers, following her participation in the recently released film Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. In the film, the 72-year-old singer belts out Fernando and Super Trouper, two of the Swedish pop group’s hits.

Cher released a teaser video on Wednesday which features a taste of her version to the hit song “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!” and the sone was officially released yesterday.

She spoke with E! News about her upcoming album saying, “I’ve always liked ABBA and saw the original Mamma Mia musical on Broadway three times. After filming Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, I was reminded again of what great and timeless songs they wrote and started thinking, ‘Why not do an album of their music?’ The songs were harder to sing than I imagined but I’m so happy with how the music came out. I’m really excited for people to hear it. It’s a perfect time.”

Dancing Queen will include ten tracks and will drop on September 28.
