“Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” Conjures a Christmas Special

Get ready for some dark magic this Christmas.

The first season of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina landed on Netflix on October 26 and while there no indication when season two will hit the streaming service, fans will be treated to an extra chilling holiday special.

Alongside Netflix’s slate of holiday-themed films, fans will be treated to Christmas-themed specials including Chilling Adventures of Sabrina: A Midwinter’s Tale. The news was announced by creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa in a tweet on Monday.

The official synopsis of the special reads: “The Church of Night, like all covens, celebrates the Winter Solstice — the longest night of the year — when families gather together around the Yule Fire to sing pagan carols, tell ghost stories and huddle against the supernatural creatures that come out to cause mischief. Since the Winter Solstice is when the veil between this world and the next is at its thinnest, it’s the perfect time to conduct a séance — which Sabrina convenes, to try and contact her mother. But the holidays are also a time for guests and visitors — both welcome and unwelcome — and you never know what might come down the chimney.”

The stream giant’s holiday reel trailer gives a sneak peek of Sabrina’s winter episode, with her new platinum blonde do, which means that the episode definitely takes place after the events of the first season.

Sabrina‘s holiday special drops December 14.
