Chris Hemsworth as Hulk Hogan? Yes, please!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hemsworth signed on to play the wrestling legend in an upcoming biopic that is scheduled to come on Netflix. The movie, which still doesn’t have a release date, will be directed by Todd Phillips (The Hangover Trilogy)
THR reports that the biopic won’t try to tell Hogan’s entire life story. Instead, the feature will focus on his rise in the wrestling world and is described as “an origin story of the Hulkster and Hulkamania.”
Hulk Hogan gained prominence in the early 1980s, quickly rising from an unknown wrestler to being one of the sport’s most recognizable stars. He was a heroic character for better part of his career, managing to win six WWF World Heavyweight Champion/WWF Champion titles alongside six WCW World Heavyweight Champion titles.
Besides wrestling, Hogan also actively pursued an acting career, making his feature debut as a villain Thunderlips in Rocky III. His most notable works are TV series Thunder in Paradise and movies No Holds Barred, The Secret Agent Club, and Santa with Muscles. He also gained exposure thanks to reality show Hogan Knows Best, which centered on his family life.
