Chris Messina Talks “Satisfying” Finale to “The Mindy Project”

Exciting news for The Mindy Project fans! It seems you might be getting the series finale you’ve always hoped for!

During the 2017 American Cinematheque Awards, actor Chris Messina who plays Danny Castellano dished to ET about the upcoming final episode.

43-year-old Messina was asked THE question fans can’t wait to know the answer to: will Mindy Lahiri’s character, Mindy Kaling, and Danny finally work things out and get back together. He replied, “I don’t want to spoil anything, but I think it’s a satisfying ending and I don’t want to spoil anything but I hope you enjoy it… I hope they love it. When I read the script, I thought it was a really smart way to end the show, and those guys are the best. Great writers, great actors, I’m going to miss them.”

Messina admitted that his character is flawed saying that he’s definitely “been a jerk at times… but I like that he was a jerk cause we’re all jerks sometimes,” adding that people try their best, and that his character “learned some lessons and hopefully they’ll be happy with his newfound self – but we’ll see.”

The actor also talked in praise of the show telling ET that there’s nothing like going to work everyday having such laughs, calling it a “gift.”
