Chris Pine teams up with Hulu to play Robert F. Kennedy

Bloodline co-creator, Todd E. Kessler is developing a new series for Hulu starring Chris Pine.

After starring in the summer’s biggest superhero movie, Wonder Woman, Pine will face the challenge of portraying a real-life icon – Robert F. Kennedy.

The drama series will be based off of Larry Tye’s 2016 biography Bobby Kennedy: The Making of a Liberal Icon. The book was based on the author’s interviews with Kennedy’s close friends and surviving family, including widow and sister, unpublished memoirs, and unreleased government files. The book traces Kennedy’s life, beginning as attorney general in his brother’s administration to his tragic assassination during his own presidential campaign in 1968.

Pine follows a long line of actors who have played Kennedy, including Martin Sheen, Jeffrey Donovan, Barry Pepper and most recently Peter Sarsgaard in Jackie.
