Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears are two of the biggest stars of their generation, but they never had a chance to record a song together. That could change in the future since the “Say Something” singer said she’s open to the idea of working with the fellow hit-maker.
Aguilera and Spears rose to prominence at the same time, after co-starring in the Mickey Mouse Club. Since the two had similar musical sensibilities, the media enjoyed pitting them against each other. The bitter rivalry they made up was far from reality and Aguilera wishes they had social media to downplay feud claims.
“When I was coming up, it was very obvious, you know, me and Britney were definitely… there was the Britney/Christina considered rivalry thing. If we had social media back then, we would have probably done a song together and just squashed it,” said The Voice coach.
Christina Aguilera also said it’s still not too late for a duet, and added she’s down for it if Spears is. We’re yet to find out if she likes the idea, but one thing’s for sure – seeing this two team up for a song would be a dream come true of all the ‘90s kids.
