Christina Applegate is making her way back to the small screen.
After a six-year hiatus from TV, the 46-year-old actress has been tapped to star in a new TV series for Netflix titled, Dead to Me.
The series is described as a dark comedy from executive producers Will Ferrell and Adam McKay, written by Liz Feldman.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the 10-episode half-hour series will center on a friendship between a high strung widow (Applegate), and a free spirit with a shocking secret. The poised and put-together widow has a dark sense of humor as well as an anger problem that she simply doesn’t want to deal with.
Applegate’s last TV role was in Up All Night on NBC, which aired from 2011 to 2012. She is most remembered for her portrayal of Kelly on Married With Children.
Filming on Dead to Me is set to begin this fall in Los Angeles.
