Chuck Lorre’s Max Series “Bookie” Gets Season 2 Renewal

Chuck Lorre gave us another acclaimed comedy series with Bookie, and there’s more where that came from! This series will officially be coming back for another round after the streaming service Max renewed it for Season 2.

Bookie hails from Chuck Lorre and Nick Bakay, and it centers on a veteran bookie Danny (Sebastian Maniscalco), who must adjust to the impending legalization of sports gambling, while also trying to deal with his unstable clients and navigate his hectic life in Los Angeles.

The supporting cast of Omar Dorsey, Andrea Anders, Vanessa Ferlito, Jorge Garcia, Maxim Swinton, and Charlie Sheen, who reunited with Lorre for the first time since his controversial departure from Two and a Half Men.

Lorre and Bakay confirmed the show’s renewal in a joint statement, saying “We couldn’t be more excited that Max listened to their gut, paid the juice, and let it ride on Season 2 of Bookie.”

Amy Gravitt, executive vice president of HBO Programming, echoed their words and said they’re looking forward to continuing the story with this incredibly talented cast and crew.

Bookie premiered on Max on November 30, 2023, and featured a total of eight episodes, airing weekly in two-episode chunks. The show’s renewal comes just two weeks after Season 1 ended its run on December 21, 2023.
