Colin Trevorrow to Direct “Jurassic World 3”

Steven Spielberg confirms Colin Trevorrow will return to the third installment of Jurassic World. Spielberg will also return as executive producer of the dinosaur franchise. Spielberg confirmed the news to EW

This isn’t the first time Trevorrow will take part in the franchise having directed and co-wrote the first Jurassic World in 2015. Trevorrow also co-wrote the script with Derek Connolly for the upcoming Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom that was directed by J.A. Bayona.

Trevorrow will collaborate with Emily Carmichael (Pacific Rim: Uprising) on a script for the third installment of the franchise.

“It’s important to this franchise that we welcome new creative voices to keep our storytelling fresh and alive,” says Trevorrow. “I’m thrilled with the tension and beauty J.A. has brought to Fallen Kingdom, and I know Emily will add another layer of emotion to the concluding chapter of our trilogy.”

Fallen Kingdom is scheduled to hit theaters June 22.
