“The Conners” Teaser Offers More Questions Than Answers

There’s been a lot of buzz surrounding The Conners, ABC’s spin-off of its revived-then-canceled hit sitcom Roseanne. The first teaser for the upcoming series is finally here, but none of the characters is there to welcome us back.

The short promo video features a slow zoom of the familiar couch in the family’s cozy living room. As Carly Simon’s Anticipation play in the background, words “What’s next?” suddenly pop up on the screen.

If you’re hoping for one of the Conners to enter the room and answer the question, you’re up for the disappointment. None of the familiar faces shows up in this short teaser, which offered more questions than answers.

The only thing we know for sure is that Roseanne Barr definitely won’t be coming back. ABC decided to cut ties with the star after she shocked the world with a series of offensive tweets.

The teaser doesn’t reveal much about the future of The Conners, but ABC gave us another sneak peek into the new series. The first photo was posted on the show’s official Instagram and it features the cast sitting at the kitchen table together. Sara Gilbert, Michael Fishman, John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf and Lecy Goranson are some of the cast members coming back when this new sitcom premieres on October 16.
