Larry David has given us one of HBO’s longest-running shows with Curb Your Enthusiasm, but all good things must come to an end. The famous comedian decided it was finally time to bring this story to a close with the upcoming twelfth season.

Over the course of the past two decades, Curb Your Enthusiasm told the story of Larry David’s fictionalized life, and the upcoming Season 12 will follow the same formula. This hit series was born out of David’s one-hour special Larry David: Curb Your Enthusiasm, while its first proper episode premiered on HBO one year later.

Two decades down the road, David is finally ready to say goodbye to the characters and the world he created in this series.

“I will now have the opportunity to […] become the person God intended me to be – the thoughtful, kind, caring, considerate human being I was until I got derailed by portraying this malignant character. And so ‘Larry David,’ I bid you farewell. Your misanthropy will not be missed,” wrote David on social media.

Casey Bloys, chairman and CEO of HBO & Max Content, said it’s hard to say farewell to such a ground-breaking, brilliantly funny, and iconic series, and added it’s been a joy to work with Larry David and the rest of the show’s cast and crew.

Curb Your Enthusiasm will return for its final season on HBO on February 4, 2024.
