The Canadian legal drama was acquired by the CW as part of the network’s original-programming slate. It is the latest addition to an increasingly growing CW summer original-programming lineup, which also includes The Outpost, Whose Line Is It Anyway?, The Originals and more.
Titled Bruden of Truth the series chronicles the life of a big-city lawyer who returns to her hometown to take on what looks like a simple case; soon enough she finds out that she stepped into a fight for justice for a group of sick girls. Starring as the lead character is CW’s Smallville alum Kristin Kreuk. The series also stars Peter Mooney (Rookie Blue), Alex Carter (NCIS), Benjamin Ayres (Saving Hope), Nicola Correia-Damude, and Star Slade.
The series was creator by Brad Simpson and is executive produced by Ilana Frank, Linda Pope, Jocelyn Hamilton and Kreuk herself.
Burden of Truth will stream on Hulu.
