Dakota Johnson is gearing up for her first superhero role in Madame Web, and Sony finally gave us a taste of things to come. The first trailer for this film is finally here and it sees Johnson star as a paramedic who uses her clairvoyant abilities to help three young women with a bright future live to see another day.

Madame Web serves as an origin story of one of Marvel’s most enigmatic heroines, and here’s what it has in store, according to Sony Pictures’ official synopsis:

“The suspense-driven thriller stars Dakota Johnson as Cassandra Webb, a paramedic in Manhattan who may have clairvoyant abilities. Forced to confront revelations about her past, she forges a relationship with three young women destined for powerful futures… if they can all survive a deadly present.”

Johnson will be joined by Sydney Sweeney, Isabela Merced, and Celeste O’Connor, while Tahar Rahim will play the film’s main villain Ezekiel Sims. Mike Epps, Emma Roberts, Adam Scott, and Zosia Mamet will also star in undisclosed roles.

Madame Web will be released by Sony Pictures on February 14, 2024. Marvel developed it in collaboration with Columbia Pictures and Di Bonaventura Pictures, but it won’t be a part of the official MCU timeline.
