Danny Glover has joined the cast of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle sequel.
The Lethal Weapon alum joins original stars Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan and the previously announced Awkwafina and Danny DeVito.
The Jake Kasdan return to direct form a script he co-wrote with Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner.
The first sequel was a box office success, grossing $404 million domestically and $557 million internationally. Despite being against Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the sequel to the 1995 original climbed to no. 1 in its fifth weekend, and remained at the top for the following three.
The sequel opted for a more modern and up-to-date version on the original, which saw Robin Williams sucked into a board game. The sequel, set in the present day, followed four high school in detention together, who was transported into the Jumanji video game.
No other details have been released by the studio regarding the sequel’s plot line and characters.
