Dave Grohl and Zac Brown Band Cover Metallica’s “Enter Sandman”

What happens when a rock star joins forces with a country band to cover an iconic metal song? Well, we found that out when Foo Fighters’ frontman Dave Grohl made a surprising appearance during Zac Brown Band’s gig at Atlanta’s Tabernacle on Thursday night.

Grohl, who is scheduled to play with his band on a pre-Super Bowl show in Atlanta, popped up on stage during the encore and delivered an energizing cover of Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” with Zac Brown Band.

You can hear the cover and see the performance in the video below.

Surprisingly, this isn’t the first time that Dave Grohl covers “Enter Sandman.” Back in October, Grohl decided to invite a 10-year-old boy named Collier onstage during Foo Fighters’ show in Kansas City and the two ended up covering this Metallica’s classic. Although they didn’t play the entire song, it was still a good practice for the full version Grohl did with Zac Brown.

Dave Grohl and his Foo Fighters will play their show at Atlantic Station in Atlanta on Saturday with several guest acts including the rap duo Run the Jewels. The show will be streamed live on Twitter and on DirecTV Audience Network.
