David Oyelowo Set to Make Directorial Debut with “The Water Man”

After showing off his acting chops in Selma and A United Kingdom, David Oyelowo is getting ready to step behind the camera. British actor will make his feature directorial debut with The Water Man.

The screenplay for this promising project was written by Emma Needell and it tells the tale of a boy who runs away from home to find a legendary figure called the Water Man, in the hope he’ll help him ave his ill mother.

In addition to serving as director, David Oyelowo will also be in charge of producing this movie and playing one of the key characters. He’s very excited to take on this endeavor, alongside an amazing cast that includes Rosario Dawson, Alfred Molina, and rising stars Lonnie Chavis and Amiah Miller.
