The BAFTA Film Awards are coming our way next month, and the ceremony found the most perfect host we could’ve possibly hoped for. Doctor Who actor David Tennant will serve as the master of the ceremonies at the upcoming BAFTAs at London’s Royal Festival Hall.

Best known for his role in the beloved shows Doctor Who, Broadchurch, and Good Omens, Tennant follows in the footsteps of the Saltburn star Richard E. Grant and will host the BAFTAs for the first time this year.

“I am delighted to have been asked to host the EE BAFTA Film Awards and help celebrate the very best of this year’s films and the many brilliant people who bring them to life,” he said in a statement.

Jane Millichip, CEO of BAFTA, said they’re over the moon that Tennant will be the host of the 2024 BAFTA Film Awards, adding that his warmth, charm, and mischievous wit will make the upcoming show a must-watch.

In addition to announcing Tennant as the host, the BAFTAs also shared the longlist for all 24 award categories. Nominations will be announced by Naomi Ackie and Kingsley Ben-Adir on January 18, while the BAFTA Award ceremony will return to the Royal Festival Hall in London on February 18.
