Swamp Thing was supposed to put DC Universe on the map, but this newly-established streaming service decided to pull the plug on this series shortly after its premiere.
This superhero show with horror elements tells the story of Abby Arcane, who returns home to Marais, Louisiana to investigate a deadly swamp-borne virus, only to discover the dark, terrifying mysteries of the swamp.
The news of cancellation took everyone by surprise since only one episode officially aired before DC decided to call it quits. Executive producer James Wan was just as shocked as the rest of us, but he took a moment to thank everyone who worked hard to bring this show to life.
“Don’t really know or understand why Swamp Thing was canceled, but I can tell you this – all the cast and crew, and producing/writing team poured their hearts into this. Really proud of everyone’s hard work,” Wan said on Instagram.
