Shazam! finally has a release date.
After years in development, the Warner Bros. DC entertainment superhero movie, will hit theaters in April, 2019.
Portraying the titular superhero is Zachary Levi. Also starring are Asher Angel, Mark Strong, Jack Dylan and Grace Fulton. The movie tells the story of a young boy (Angel) who is able to transform into a grown-up superhero named Captain Marvel by saying the magic word “Shazam.” Sandberg, Safran, and Fulton have worked together in the past on Annabelle: Creation, which grossed over $300 million globally.
The movie is directed by David F. Sandberg and the script was penned by Henry Gayden and Darren Lemke.
Next up on DC Cinematic Universe’s scheduling calendar is Jason Momoa’s Aquaman, which will open December 21.
