“Dead to Me” Renewed for Season 2

The Liz Feldman-created series will be back for another season on Netflix.

Feldman, who will return as showrunner for Dead to Me’s second season announced the news late Monday during the show’s FYSee panel in Los Angeles.

The dark comedy follows Christina Applegate as Jen, a sardonic widow determined to solve her husband’s recent hit-and-run murder, and Linda Cardellini as Judy, an optimistic free spirit who’s recently suffered her own tragic loss. When the two women meet at a support group, they become unlikely friends, despite their polar-opposite personalities. But as they bond, Judy desperately tries to shield Jen from a shocking secret that could destroy her life as she knows it.

James Marsden, Ed Asner and Brandon Scott co-star.

The show’s first season earned an 87% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. After debuting in the UK, it was slotted as Netflix’s No. 1.

Season Two of Dead to Me is set to debut in 2020.
