Diana, a musical, is coming to Broadway

The musical chronicling the life of the late Princess of Wales is heading to Broadway. 

Diana, which has its world premiere earlier this year at La Jolla Playhouse in San Diego, is heading to the Broadway stage in the spring of next year at Longacre Theater on March 2020. 

Diana, was penned by the team behind Memphis, Joe DiPietro, and David Bryan. It is directed by Christopher Ashley (Come From Away). Helming the music is Ian Eisendrath with Kelly Devine in charge of choreography. Tony Award winner William Ivey Long is set to handle the costumes. 

According to multiple sources, the show’s leads are all set to reprise their roles as the royals once the musical heads to Broadway. Jeanna de Waal and Roe Hartrampf, play the late Princess and Prince Charles. Erin Davie stars as Camilla Parker Bowles and Tony Award-winner Judy Kaye stars as Queen Elizabeth II. 

An opening date for Diana on Broadway has been set for March 31, 2020.
