The first image of Emma Stone as the notorious villain is finally here.
The Walt Disney Studios presentation at D23 on Saturday brought with it the unveiling of the first look image of the titular character in Disney’s Cruella.
The image features Stone embodying the notoriously fashionable diva, down to the famous two-toned hairstyle, holding three large Dalmatians, flanked by two of her thugs.
Disney Film chief Sean Bailey and director Craig Gillespie went on to share more details about the film — the backstory to “one of Disney’s so-called great villains.” The duo confirms that the film will take place in the punk rock era of the 1970s.
An additional casting was also confirmed with Emma Thompson set to star opposite Stone. Paul Walter Hauser and Joel Fry, also star.
Cruella will hit theaters May 28, 2021.
