We’ve seen Samuel L. Jackson play a supporting role in countless Marvel movies, and it’s finally his turn to shine in the spotlight. The upcoming mini-series Secret Invasion puts his iconic character Nick Fury front and center, and Disney+ finally dropped the first trailer for this highly-anticipated project.

According to the show’s official logline, Secret Invasion will see Nick Fury learn of a clandestine invasion of Earth by a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls. He must join forces with his allies, including Everett Ross, Maria Hill, and the Skrull Talos, to thwart an imminent Skrull invasion and save humanity.

Martin Freeman, Cobie Smulders, and Ben Mendelsohn are expected to return to their respective roles from the previous Marvel films. They’ll be in pretty good company since the cast also includes Charlayne Woodard, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Killian Scott, Emilia Clarke, Olivia Colman, and Don Cheadle.

Secret Invasion has been described as a “crossover event series” that would tie in with future MCU films. It will premiere on June 21 on Disney+ as the first series of Phase Five of the MCU, and it will feature six episodes.

Jackson is one of the longest-running MCU cast members, and he’s been playing Nick Fury for 15 years. It all started with a cameo in Iron Man (2008) and he went on to appear in ten more MCU films, and we’ll soon get to see him again in The Marvels.
