Wish is one of the most promising animated movies coming our way this fall and Disney is planning something huge for its Thanksgiving release. They just dropped the first full trailer for this magical fantasy film and announced additional voice cast members.
According to Disney’s official synopsis, Wish takes place in the magical kingdom of Rosas, where a sharp-witted idealist Asha makes a wish so powerful that it is answered by a cosmic force. She must join forces with a little ball of boundless energy called Star to save the kingdom of Rosas from its ruthless ruler, King Magnifico.
In addition to Ariana DeBose as Asha, Chris Pine as King Magnifico, and Alan Tudyk as Valentino, the voice ensemble of Wish will include several newly announced cast members, including Angelique Cabral, Victor Garber, Natasha Rothwell, Jennifer Kumiyama, Evan Peters, Harvey Guillén, Ramy Youssef, Niko Vargas, Della Saba, and Jon Rudnitsky.
Wish was directed by Chris Buck and Fawn Veerasunthorn, while Frozen’s Jennifer Lee co-wrote the script alongside Allison Moore. Wish will be released in honor of Disney’s 100th anniversary, and it’s supposed to tie together the themes explored by many of the studio’s signature films. It will hit the theatres on November 22, and its Disney+ release date is yet to be announced.
