There’s always a lot of buzz surrounding the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony and this year’s event was one of the books. The class of 2022 includes such music legends as Dolly Parton, Eminem, and Lionel Richie.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony took place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles this past weekend. The list of recipients also included the iconic synth-pop band Duran Duran, singer-songwriter Carly Simon, new wave duo Eurythmics and rock star Pat Benatar.

Parton’s speech was the most memorable moment of the night. She opened it by jokingly saying, “I’m a rock star now!” and reflected on her hesitation to accept this honor.

“Back when they said they were gonna put me in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, I didn’t really feel like I had done enough to deserve that. And I didn’t understand at the time that it’s about more than that. But I’m just honored and so proud to be here tonight,” said Parton.

Parton also gave an explosive performance at the ceremony, with live renditions of songs “Rockin’ Years” and “Jolene”. Several inductees joined her for the star-studded performance of “Jolene”, including Pat Benatar and Eurythmics’ Annie Lennox.
