Drake Lands Ninth No. 1 Album

Drake’s release of his new archival compilation album, Care Package has just landed his ninth No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart. 

Billboard reports that Care Package launched with 109,000 equivalent album units in the US according to Nielsen Music. Of that, 16,000 were in album sales. The artist has earned the coveted spot with his compilation of 17 stray tracks, most of which were never officially released. 

Other artists that have also topped the chart nine times are Garth Brooks, Eminem, Madonna, and the Rolling Stones. Billboard 200 chart-toppers are The Beatles (19), Jay-Z (14), Bruce Springsteen and Barbra Streisand (11), and Elvis Presley (10).

At No. 2 is Ed Sheeran’sn former No. 1, No.6 Collaborations Project followed by Billie Eilish’s When We All Fall Asleep, at No. 3; Lil Durk scores his first top 10 album with Love Songs 4 the Streets 2 and Chris Brown’s former No. 1 Indigo rounds out the chart’s top 5.
