Drake Goes Meta in New Video For Viral Song “In My Feelings”

Drake has been shattering records left and right with his new album Scorpion. Each of the singles he released became an instant hit, but one song took things to a whole new level. In My Feelings became a viral sensation and started the most epic dance craze of the summer. A new video for this hit tune is finally here and it’s as meta as it gets.

In My Feelings is Drake’s love letter to the viral phenomenon that propelled this song to the top of the charts. Most artists have to invest a lot of time and money into promoting their new singles, but the Canadian rapper didn’t have to lift a finger when it comes to this one. When comedian theshiggyshow posted a video dancing in sync to the song’s lyrics, he started #InMyFeelingsChallenge that’s still going strong.

The new music video is a clear reference to this craze. It shows dozens of people doing the dance as Drake strolls through the streets of New Orleans while singing along. The rapper eventually wakes up and it turns out the whole thing was a weird nightmare.

“I just had a dream that I made some song about some girl. And then this kid from New York that spits when he talks all the time did some dance to it and then the world did the dance and Will Smith was there. Nobody would stop. It was terrible.”

Comedian Shiggy who initially started the craze makes a cameo, but he’s not the only one. The guys from Queer Eye, the kids from Stranger Things, and even Will Smith are there for a split second. Actress La La Anthony plays the role of the infamous KeKe, the girl Drake’s crazy about.
