A new drama series based on the life of glamorous star Mariah Cary is in the works, as reported by Huffington Post. Carey will be the executive producer along with Stella Bulochnikov, a Golden Globe nominee. The series is being developed under Carey and Bulochnikov’s company Magic Carpet Production.
The plot will follow “the rise of an ambitious bi-racial 16-year-old girl, an aspiring singer-songwriter who survived a difficult childhood to become the biggest selling female music artist of all time” in New York City in 1986.
Nina Colman is credited as the writer of the series.
