Dua Lipa and Anne-Marie are Top Brit Awards List of Nominees

The awards season is in the full swing – and not only when it comes to movies. Things are also heating up in the world of music as the BRIT Awards are the latest to unveil its list of nominees for 2019.

Dua Lipa, Anne-Marie, and Jess Glynne will be top contenders at this year’s ceremony, with four nods each. Anne-Marie is the only member of this impressive trio competing for the biggest award of the night – British album of the year.

This young singer scored her first nod in this category thanks to her debut album Speak Your Mind. She’ll have to defeat the 1975, Florence and the Machine, George Ezra and Jorja Smith in order to take this award home.

The Brit Awards were first introduced back in 1977, and have since gained a reputation of the most beloved awards ceremony of its kind in the UK. The 2019 edition will be held at the O2 Arena in London on February 20, with Jack Whitehall serving as a host.
