It’s been three years since the release of Dua Lipa’s hit album Future Nostalgia, and she’s finally ready for a comeback. The British hitmaker charmed her way back into our hearts with a magical new single “Houdini”, which marks the start of her next era.

Lipa hits the dancefloor in Manu Cossu-directed visual for “Houdini” and we get to watch her rehears an elaborate choreography with her backup dancers. They’re busting their best moves under fluorescent lights, while mirrors around them create magical optical illusions.

In an official statement about “Houdini”, Lipa said that this song “represents the most light and freeing parts of [her] singledom”, adding it explores the idea of whether someone is really worth your while or if you’ll ghost them in the end.

“Houdini” was released as the lead single from Lipa’s third studio album, and she told the radio station WECB that she’s looking forward to experimenting with fresh news sounds on this record.

“After being on tour for a whole year I fell in love with everything that live music brings, so I wanted this new album to convey that feeling and sound. So it has a lot of live instrumentation, a lot of psychedelic influence and, at the same time, it’s a pop record,” Lipa explained.
