Dua Lipa’s third studio album is just around the corner, and she teased its release with another amazing single. “Training Season” is finally here, and its music video sees the Grammy-winning singer embracing her independence after a string of bad dates.

Lipa’s latest music video was directed by Vincent Haycock, and it perfectly captures the song’s lyrics. After listening to a series of apologetic voicemails from her past suitors, Lipa is seen sitting at a café on her own. Everything spins around her while her suitors try to get her attention, but with little success.

Lipa wrote this song alongside Caroline Ailin and Tobias Jesso Jr., drawing inspiration from a string of bad dates she had to deal with in the past. She came out stronger on the other side and said she never felt more confident, clear, and empowered once she reached the point where she realized that the training season was over.

“While it may be that training season is never over for any of us, you start to see the beauty in finding that person to experience it with. You stop looking for the trainees and become more interested in having someone where you are and someone to grow with,” said Lipa in a statement.

“Training Season” will be featured on Lipa’s untitled third studio album, along with the previously released lead single “Houdini”.
