Dua Lipa dived in with both feet into her new era, and her latest music video sees her embracing pure joy. The lavish visual for “Illusion” will transport you to a swimming pool in Barcelona, and it perfectly encapsulates the spirit of her new album Radical Optimism.

Lipa’s new music video was shot at the Piscina Municipal de Montjuïc in Barcelona, and director Tanu Muino helped her bring her vision to life. A group of synchronized swimmers joins Lipa as she dances her heart out in several lush outfits, while singing about falling for an illusion.

In an official statement announcing this song, Lipa said “Illusion” is all “about knowing what you’re getting yourself into, but staying for the hell of it.” It was the first song she co-wrote alongside Caroline Ailin, Danny L. Harle, Tobias Jesso Jr., and Kevin Parker, and she felt her new album was finally coming together after they came up with it.

“Illusion” is the third single from Lipa’s upcoming album Radical Optimism, which was inspired by “the idea of going through chaos gracefully and feeling like you can weather any storm.” It will be released on May 3, and it was also preceded by singles “Houdini” and “Training Season”.
