Dwayne Johnson confirms men will wear black in protest at the Golden Globes

After multiple sources confirmed to PEOPLE that women presenters and nominees will be clad in all black for the 2018 Golden Globes ceremony, it has now been confirmed that the men of Hollywood will be standing next to their female colleagues in black as well.

The decision to wear all black is a symbol of protest against harassment in Hollywood. Actor Dwayne Johnson and celebrity stylist Ilaria Urbinanti confirmed some Hollywood gents will be wearing black in solidarity.

“Because everyone keeps asking me… YES, the men WILL be standing in solidarity with women on this wearing-all-black movement to protest against gender inequality at this year’s Golden Globes,” Urbinanti who styles actors such as Tom Hiddleston, Armie Hammer, Garrett Hedlund and Johnson wrote in a post on Instagram. The Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle star commented on Urbinati’s post with “yes we will” confirming he will be among those dressed in all-black.

This won’t be the first time the actors and actresses of Hollywood overtly support causes or display solidarity on the red carpet.
